That’s neat. I think Toyota uses the same M10x1.5 as Honda for their Manual knobs. THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS

Most every shifter is like this, and the thread for it is very common between cars. You can get some RUHDICULOUS shift knobs

I thought they all did.

All the ones in the really dirty cars where I’ve had to take the knob or the boot off to clean and/or repair have unscrewed.

I’d imagine automatic  ones that have a release or overdrive button on the shifter don’t, since presumably that button needs to connect to something, so the attachment mechanism needs to be more complicated (at the very least, a hollow threaded tube)

Even manual transmissions often have these. At car shows they would remove them all because people had been stealing them.

The knob unscrewing is nothing. It's when the stick unscrews as well that you have a real problem...

My Tacoma shifter on the automatic is the exact  same shape and thread, except it's not covered in stitched leather. I bet you could swap them with many other Toyota knobs of similar era.

My mazda5 is the same way. I first installed a pickle Rick shifter but my wife didn't like how bumpy it was. I replaced it was a cheap flower shifter knob from eBay for those mad tyte JDM points. I really want to install the tallest JDM dildo shifter i can find but in sure my wife would disapprove of that as well
